Homeowners' associations can often be the biggest challenge in switching to an alternative lawn. If your HOA has restrictions in place that prevent you from decorating your yard the way you want, consider approaching them to discuss changing or removing those limitations. Chances are the HOA members are unaware of the benefits of alternative lawns, and having an open discussion with them will educate them and help you to help the world.
